General
- One named member of the Club is to be responsible for the conduct of any exempted glamping or camping event on our sites. They must also be responsible for ensuring those attending any site comply with this code.
- The responsible person must ensure that all members and site users are aware of, and follow, the Countryside Code.
The Sites
- The Club will ensure that the siting of any hard glamping units or tents do not impact on any neighbours with respect given to the privacy and enjoyment of their property. It will also ensure that the siting of any units does not interfere with the enjoyment of others of the natural landscape or nature conservation in the area, particularly in areas designated for their wildlife or landscape qualities.
- The Club will consult with the local authority to satisfy themselves that any new site meets the criteria set out by them and that no objections are lodged.
Noise and Nuisance
- The Club will ensure that all reasonable steps are taken to minimise noise and disturbance of any kind and will investigate any complaints made.
- The utmost care should be taken not to damage any site and its surroundings. Buildings, footpaths, services, equipment, fences, trees, and livestock should all be respected.
- If domestic animals are allowed on site, then owners must keep them on a lead and exercise them away from the site (unless designated areas are provided). All mess will be cleared up and no animal is to be allowed to roam freely in areas where livestock are grazing.
- The Club will identify any open spaces suitable for the playing of games and these will be positioned so as to minimise disturbance to others on, or adjacent to, the site.
- Noise levels will be kept to a minimum for the comfort of others on the site as well as neighbours in the vicinity of the site.
Vehicular Access
- The responsible person will ensure access to the site will not cause undue difficulties or disruption to other users. Access to the site will be suitable for the number of units and the speed of vehicles on site will be restricted to 5mph.
- Emergency vehicles must always have access to the site, so entrances/exits to the sites will be kept clear.
Density and Siting of Units
- There will be a minimum of 6 metres spacing between each hard glamping unit or tent.
- On each exempted, approved site there will be a maximum of 5 tent pitches and 3 hard glamping units to ensure the quiet enjoyment of all users.
Fire Safety Precautions
- Open fires and barbecues will only be allowed with permission of the site owner and will not be sited near to vehicles, buildings and other structures. Open fires will only be permitted in designated fire pits and any fire or BBQ will be extinguished safely and responsibly after each use.
- A fire extinguisher and fire blanket will be installed within all hard glamping units and tent users will be required to bring their own fire extinguisher on to the site when the visit.
Waste water and Chemical Toilet Disposal
- The on-site disposal of the contents of waste water and chemical toilets will be managed by site owners. There will be designated disposal points and the need to prevent pollution of rivers and streams will be always adhered to.
Disposal or Refuse
- All waste should be disposed responsibly, and site owners must ensure adequate arrangements are in place.
